Gradient hair is a type of hair coloring and a moe point in ACG subculture.
Introduction
In reality, gradient hair is a type of hair color in which the hair shows a gradient after multi-color dyeing. Unlike bicolored hair and yin-yang hair, where the hair colors are distinct, the colors in gradient hair show a soft transition.
In ACG works, gradient hair is almost always for artistic purposes. Some artists will add a slight gradient to the character's original hair color to express the transparency of the hair (sometimes only adding a different-color gradient to the inner layer of the back hair, which is similar to the inner color), but this is just an art technique. The character themself should not be considered to have gradient hair.
